E T E L H T A E USQ ELIT u W a u Josh In a world where picking up heavy objects and putting them down again is an art form, USQ Elite Athlete Joshua Wu is a master of his art. At only 20 years of age, Joshua can clean and jerk 140kg (that’s fifty bricks, or the weight of a full-grown male giant panda). But that kind of strength doesn’t come without its fair share of hard work. Joshua has been training for the past eight years, and is currently with the Burwood High Performance Olympic Weightlifting Club, alongside his sister Maddi. All of Josh’s hard work and training is starting to pay off, as it often does. In the last five years, Josh has nearly doubled his personal best on the clean and jerk. On top of this, his weightlifting journey has sent him across the country and the world, from Melbourne to Tbilisi, Georgia. In 2017, Joshua will be representing USQ at the Taipei National Intercollegiate Athletic Games from May 3–9 in Taiwan, competing against students from across the world. Between his back-breaking training and busy competition schedule, Joshua is also studying a Bachelor of Laws via distance education. Congratulations on your achievements, Josh, and we wish you all the best at the Taipei Games. Find more information about USQ Elite Athletes
