Sam C
USQ law student Sam Carter is
representing Australia at the
Paralympic Games in Rio.
‘To represent my country at the
Paralympic Games has been a dream
since I was nine-years-old watching
the Sydney Paralympic Games on TV,’
Mr Carter said.
‘I have been fortunate enough to wear
the green and gold to a number of
competitions over the years but to
be able to represent Australia as a
Paralympic athlete for the first time is
an honour and a memory that I will
carry with me for the rest of my life.
‘Without a doubt, the highlight so far
has been the Opening Ceremony,’ he
said. The wheelchair sprint specialist is
fortunate to have some of his biggest
fans with him—his parents and
grandfather—in Rio as well.
Mr Carter will compete in the T54
