What are you studying at USQ?
Bachelor of Commerce double major
in Finance/Accounting.
How long have you been
involved in swimming?
I started Learn to Swim at the age
of 6 months and begun competitive
swimming at age 12. I am still
involved in this sport at 19.
Do you have any pre-race rituals?
Listening to music and slapping my
arms and legs. (It may sound weird
but it gets me in the zone).
Anything else you’d like to share?
USQ’s Elite Athlete program has
allowed me to do well in my studies
and train hard. Competing at the
University Games in 2015 was a great
experience and I am extremely lucky
to have broken the record in the
Women’s 50m Breaststroke in 32.8.
From the support of many faculty
members and students, I have been
offered a full academic and athletic
scholarship at the University of
Toledo in Ohio, USA which begins in
August 2016.
How much time do you spend
training each week?
2-3 mornings in the pool from
5.30-7.00am, 5 afternoons in the
pool from 4.45-6.30pm and gym for
45 mins twice a week.
What has been your biggest
challenge in swimming so far?
Trying to swim backstroke anticlockwise.
