‘It’s been a big year for me. I showed by first international
exhibition; was accepted into the Project Network Symposium
at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Centre in
Denmark; completed three back-to-back artist residencies in
France; spent August at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival; spent a
month in Wales managing a gallery/studio space and am currently
in Iceland until the end of November. I’ll spend the rest of this year
in France before heading to Denmark in January and eventually make my
way back to Australia next year to start some larger-scale projects.’

‘I’ve finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel I was
talking about so many months ago. This year threw some big
challenges my way: I scored a dream position in a fantastic
law firm, I was able to attend an inspiring Student Leadership
Conference in Canberra and now I’m jetting off to Tasmania
as the Australian & New Zealand Student Services Association
Conference’s only sponsored student (Woo!). With all this being
thrown at me, I had to be very flexible with my studies. This meant being
organised and completing assessment as soon as I could. My record is
now 17 days early for submission – complete nerd alert, I know. I’m super
excited for 2016! Bring on the last year of my degree!

Viki Maconochie
Business has been booming for Viki, who has had to take on a
Virtual Assistant on a casual basis. She is nearly at the end of
her second last semester and is very excited about what will
come next, and is assessing her options. She is also working
on another not-for-profit project in association with The One
World Collective, showcasing the faces behind the not-for-profit
organisations and telling their stories and struggles, with the hopes
of creating more collaboration and therefore more of a cause-based
approach and less of a competitive environment. If you read Viki’s blog,
you may remember her Hugh Jackman obsession. While being part of
USQ’s promotion hasn’t made her famous enough to catch his attention
yet, she does have a meeting with a talent management agency!
