uni life ROBELLE LAGOON Just a 5 minute walk from USQ’s Springfield campus Summer started with a splash here in Springfield with the highly anticipated opening of its latest edition, the Robelle Domain Lagoon. Having opened on the 5th of September, the Lagoon has quickly become one of Springfield’s main attractions. Just a 5 minute walk from USQ’s Springfield campus, the Lagoon is the perfect place to cool down and relax after a long lecture! I myself have added a towel to my list of uni essentials. If you’re anything like me, you’ll get to the water then realise you’ve forgotten your towel and lunch… but there is no reason to stress! The Lagoon has its own café, which sells a variety of food and drink, swim wear and accessories, and just across the road is Orion Shopping Centre, which has everything you’ll need for a great day out, from swimmers to snags! The Lagoon caters for everyone, with water depths varying from shallow to 1.5m, fountains and fun rivers for the little ones to play in and lifeguards on duty from 5am–9pm. There are plenty of shaded spots and barbeques around the area, which make perfect spots for picnics and there are also plenty of peaceful spots where you can study. *pro tip: The Lagoon gets popular when school’s out, so weekdays between 9am and 3pm are the perfect times to get your study on.* image © mustdobrisbane.com VIEW ONLINE WORDS: ALEX FOLEY – USQ Student IMAGES: MUSTDOBRISBANE.COM
