achievements USQ ACHIEVEMENTS Let’s celebrate some of the incredible achievements of our USQ alumni and current students in their professional careers! image © The Chronicle Later on this year/early next year, creative media student Nik Mroz will be launching a High Altitude Balloon that will reach near-space heights. If the balloon is successful in reaching 32,000m above the earth it will set the record for ‘World’s highest lamington’ and ‘Worlds highest fursuit’. The best part is the entire journey will be recorded by GoPros, which will take part in the flight as well. The book, Yatdjuligin: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nursing and Midwifery Care has won the 2015 Tertiary (Wholly Australian) Teaching and Learning Resource category in the annual Educational Publishing Awards. Among its contributors is USQ lecturer Raelene Ward, who should be proud as the book is receiving a great deal of praise. USQ Associate Director (Online Marketing) Rebecca McSwiney has been named the 2015 Young Manager of the Year at the Australian Institute of Management Excellence Awards Finals in Melbourne, the latest accolade in her already impressive collection. After working at USQ for almost 50 years, it’s time for David Orton to take a well-deserved break. Currently a Client Support Team leader, David started his journey with USQ in 1967 as a student. Many thanks goes to David for all of the work he has done for the university.
