speed meet Meet LORRAINE! What do you love most about being an SRO? What does your role involve? Knowing something I said or did could fundamentally improve someone’s life motivates me. Every student and every conversation is important. Working together in a team and utilising and valuing different skills and experience while answering all types of student enquiries listening and offering perspective, clarification and suggesting options and advice. Best Tip for future SROs?| Be a good listener. Understand that each student wants to succeed with their studies and sometimes life events disrupts their journey. Do you have any hobbies? I belong to a Toastmasters club. It’s a friendly and supportive way to learn more about communicating well in a practical and fun way. It’s worth a visit! What is your most embarrassing moment? Me and the rooster from hell. An angry rooster charged at me at my friends’ farm. I took off across the paddock. My heart was pounding and the rooster kept coming. Running and screaming I jumped over the nearest fence. My friends rolled about laughing.
