achievements USQ ACHIEVEMENTS Let’s celebrate some of the incredible achievements of our USQ alumni and current students in their professional careers! Matt Wordsworth is one of four USQ journalism alumni to be named finalists in the 2015 Clarion Awards. The nominations are the latest in a long history of awards for USQ journalism graduates. The sky’s the limit for aspiring aviation professionals with USQ set to launch its Bachelor of Aviation in 2016. The program is pending final university approval and is set for take-off at USQ’s Springfield campus next year. Congratulations to Doctors Cheryl and Alison McCarthy from USQ’s National Centre for Engineering in Agriculture, who have won the 2015 Young Tall Poppies Science Awards. The sisters are working to improve productivity and sustainability in agriculture. USQ students and staff recently shared in a colourful, musical celebration of India’s Independence Day. As one of the largest international student cohorts at USQ, Indian students enjoyed the chance to share a day of cultural significance with their university.
