GUILT
Being a studying dad and not working
full-time can lead to the emotion called
guilt, or at least it has for me. As a
father of two kids under four years old,
quitting my full-time job and taking
on study full-time was a fairly difficult
decision to make because of the desire
to give my family the best of life and
because decisions that lead to lack,
even temporary lack, can be difficult
decisions to make. Anthropologists
might say that the guilt I feel is due
to cultural expectations and archaic
constructions of gender roles about
men being the bread winner, but
however this guilt exists or for whatever
reason it exists, there it is.
