Take On Edinburgh
Three USQ theatre graduates are taking their cabaret comedy show
international by heading to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
Ell Sachs, Laura Trennerry and Lucy Fox are by no means
your average performers. As an independent troupe,
they have a flair for the ridiculous; incorporating quirky
characters, side-splitting comedy, animation and music into
their witty, whimsical show.
The sisterhood began at USQ; all of the girls studied a
Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in theatre, with Lucy
and Laura graduating a year before Ell. Lucy attributed
the group’s success and natural cohesion as collaborative
artists to training they received at USQ, which opened up
the doors for them to create their own performance. ‘The
lecturers, they’re incredible. They’re just so supportive…
and we continue to have a really strong relationship with
them as well.’
about to take on the largest arts festival in the world,
Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where they are performing
almost every day in August. Ell describes the event as ‘a big
challenge, but it’s also going to be an incredible experience
