Her Culture Bi-Monthy Magazine July 2014 | Page 2

Dear Culture Girl,

The summer is an amazing time to start learning about other cultures. Use your time off to Google search or write for the Her Culture blog to further expand your horizons as an educated and profound Culture Girl! The summer is YOUR time to find what YOU love. See if that's an aspect of another heritage!

This July issue was an awesome experience! I am excited that Her Culture's staff writers have expanded to over thirty countries and over forty members. It is truly remarkable to me how something I started on a random day has turned into such a wonderful community.

As I start to prepare for my first semester of college. I am beginning to reflect on my sensational and exceptional eighteen years of life. Friends have changed, places have changed, and, most importantly, I have changed.

I used to think the world was stagnant. It did not move; I thought that I was the only thing that moved. Around and around I spun in a quest for completeness and happiness. But then I realized that it is quite the opposite. The world moves and spins and runs around me. I am stagnant. I am stagnant in my views, in my thoughts. I do not move, I am firm in where I stand. Though things can change around me, my own changes come from external adaptations that I must acquire.

This realization has allowed me to understand my culture, and those of others. I am excited to start college and to see where the world is spinning this time.

With all my love and gratitude,
