They can laugh or cry, or both, and still have time to put themselves together before walking down the aisle. It is very sweet to see. It always brings tears to my eyes.” To better serve their clients, the Dragons have created an all-inclusive venue. “We try to think of everything they need and provide the direction and assistance,” Darinda said. “We have an extensive ven- dor list that we provide to the bride. This list gives her plenty of choices for catering, music, photography and the added benefit that we know the businesses on this list pro- vide high quality service and we work well together.” Darinda oversees the vendor list and annually reviews those included. The list provides brides with as many as 27 cater- ers, dozens of florists and photographers, from which to choose. “We focus on quality and we want to provide the highest-level service we can,” Darinda said. “This means we work to keep healthy business relationships and partners. We have open and honest lines of commu- nication. Our goal is to help the bride and her mother to plan their beautiful wedding and decrease their stress.” The Avon Barn has received multiple awards, including being named Wedding Wires’ Top Couples’ Choice Award three consecutive years 2016-2018, Best Bridal Service of Hendricks County 2017 and Busi- ness Leader of Hendricks County 2015. Avon Wedding Barn hosts 75 weddings annually, including mid-week weddings. “We have noticed a couple new trends for weddings,” Darinda said. “The first is that more couples are getting married at their church and holding the reception here. I love this because it really incorporates church into the ceremony. The other trend we have noted is that people are getting married during the week. There are a lot of Thursday weddings, and this is because they come at about one third the cost of a weekend wedding.” The venue also hosts a variety of cor- porate events, sorority dances and a local prom. “I am honored and humbled by the awards. But honestly, I do this because I really enjoy working with the brides,” Darinda said. “We have very sweet brides and moms. They are a joy to us and it is an honor to be part of the best day of their life.”
