RAPID PATHOGEN DETECTION WITH CCC DEVICE Researchers at Purdue University in the USA have developed a novel method for concentrating food borne pathogens such as Salmonella from food samples much more rapidly than conventional techniques. Quick diagnosis of food borne salmonella and other potentially dangerous pathogens like never before in an hour. This device made us to reduce or to eliminate the thread of causing serious food borne illness. This device uses hollow threadlike fibers that filter out the cells, leading to faster detection. This device concentrates the pathogens in the food products. First the sample is broken down into liquid consistency & then chemically pre-treated to prevent the filtering membrane from forming lumps. Then the fluid is passed through the hollow filter and continues this filtering process until the pathogens are concentrated enough to be detected” “ This invention brought attention of many field including microbiology, agriculture and also food related industries. This device can avoid the number of food poisoning cases admitted to the hospital every year. The main food borne pathogens which need to be eliminated by this device are; 1. Bacillus cereus 2. Campylobacter jejuni 3. Clostridium perfringens 4. Cryptosporidium parvum 5. Escherichia coli 0157:H7 6. Giardia lamblia 7. Hepatitis A 8. Listeria monocytogenes 9. Norovirus 10.Salmonellosis 11. Staphylococcus 12. Shigella 13. Toxoplasma gondii 14. Vibrio 15. Yersiniosis These pathogens are the serious illness causing pathogens. They needed to be eliminated from the food products hence the danger of food poisoning vanishes in the nearest future.
