Trigonella foenum-graecum or as we all know fenugreek is a spice mainly used to prepare curries in south Asian countries like India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. In Ethiopian cuisine fenugreek is used as a spice butter.Fenugreek is a plant of Fabaceae family. Leaves of fenugreek plant are used as a herb and in some counties fresh fenugreek leaves are used as a vegetable. Roasted fenugreek seeds have a unique smell and a flavor. It has a slight bitter taste which enhances the taste of curries and pickles. It has a similar taste to maple syrup and is used to make fake maple syrup. It’s used to make curry powder as well. FENUGREEK We can use fenugreek seeds as it is and grounded. Grounded fenugreek gives a stronger flavor. Fenugreek tea is a great way to experience its healthy values. You can make this tea by infusing a spoonful of seeds in water. Fenugreek is not just only a spice. It is a great herb as well.
