NEGLECT OF ENVIRONMENT
Environment; what does the word “environment” mean? Is it a new
word? Or else is it a common word? Actually is there any value of it?
Is it a visible part or an invisible?
Some may have better answers for the above questions. And some
may doesn’t know it at all. Actually what is the meaning of the word,
‘environment’. Some may think that environment is a specific area
that should be protected. But the environment is the biotic and nonbiotic surrounding of an organism or population. Simply environment
is our surroundings which includes the all factors that have an
influence on their survival, development and evolution.
“Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. Man did not
weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to
the web he does to himself.” This quotation is from the Chief Seattle’s
famous speech on the environment. We can realize importance of our
environment through this quotation. Whatever we do to the
environment, we do it to ourselves only.
There are main two parts of the environment; biotic and non- biotic.
Biotic means all living organism while non-biotic means non living
things such as sunlight, temperature, air, water, humidity, soil etc.
Sunlight is the main source of photosynthesis which all living-beings
rely on this process for their survival and development. This important
