his remarkable annual festival was founded by Princess Grace in 1984. Since then,
it brings together the best artists in the very heart of Monaco for 5 weeks. Within
the framework of the festival, a number of concerts take place in the most beau-
tiful halls of Monaco: the Salle Empire at the Hotel de Paris, the Monte-Carlo Opéra, and
the Salle des Etoiles in Sporting Monte-Carlo.

reated by Princess Grace in 1974, the Ball of Roses is a glamorous and romantic annual gala,
marking the arrival of spring. The Ball of Roses traditionally takes place in the Salle des
Étoiles of Monte-Carlo Sporting and benefits the Princess Grace Foundation. In addition to
wall-to-wall roses, the ball has a specific theme each year. In 2012, Karl Lagerfeld took over as lead
designer and has been organising the Rose Ball since. His first theme was the London dandy style
of the 1960s; in 2014, he chose the Russian constructivism theme, well applauded by the Princely
family. This year’s theme has not yet been disclosed.
