Prince Albert II Renovates Grace Kelly’s Home

lmost two years ago, the Prince of Monaco acquired a property in Philadel-
phia, situated on 3901 Henry Avenue. Not just any property, but the one where
Prince Albert’s mother, Grace Kelly, grew up before she met Prince Rainier III. It
was also the house they got engaged in back in 1955. During an official visit to Philadel-
phia, Prince Albert II inaugurated the newly renovated and restored Kelly family home.
Built in 1925 by John B. Kelly, Prince Albert’s grandfather, the large Georgian style house
was a home for a few generations of the Kelly family. With four stories, a brick facade and
large white columns, the property was acquired for 712,000 euros. But the house was
in need of some attention. Major renovation and decoration work was subsequently
carried out by the Sovereign Prince with the help of his cousins.

очти два года назад князь Монако Альбер II приобрел в собственность
дом в Филадельфии на авеню Генри, 3901. Однако это больше, чем про-
сто дом: здесь выросла и жила Грейс Келли до момента встречи с кня-
зем Ренье III. Именно здесь они обручились в 1955 году. Во время визита в Фи-
ладельфию князь Альбер II официально открыл недавно отреставрированный
семейный дом Келли.
Построенный в 1925 году дедом князя Альбера Джоном Б. Келли, большой дом слу-
жил нескольким поколениям семьи. Это четырехэтажное здание с кирпичным фа-
садом и большими белыми колоннами было приобретено за 712 000 евро. Однако
дом нуждался в реставрации. Правителю Монако удалось выполнить необходимые
ремонтные и отделочные работы благодаря помощи кузенов.

n June 22, during the 11th Prince Albert II Foundation Awards Ceremony, HSH the Sovereign Prince honoured several personalities
and international organizations for their exemplary actions in favour of the environment and the preservation of the planet in each of
the three priority areas of action of the Foundation. These included the fight against the effects of climate change, the preservation
of biodiversity, as well as access to water and the fight against desertification. This year during the ceremony three awards in three categories
«Water» (Victor Pochat), «Climate change» (Terry Hughes), and «Biodiversity» (Jim Thomas) were attributed.
