Hebe Dragons—Laser/Pico update

Hello from the Laser/Pico desk.
After the Chinese New Year break, things have been a little
quieter with Alfie taking a well-deserved break, however we
have seen our sailors in action recently in the inter-school
competition at Deep Water Bay, Hong Kong Island.

大家好，
The competition featured about a dozen teams from Hong
Kong and Macau and involved a number of HHYC Dragons
sailing both the Pico and Feva classes of dinghy.
Quite an impressive HHYC roll call with Timothée, Nathan,
Zoe and her younger sister (and future Dragon?)—Joanna
(FIS), Emily, Hannah, Antonio and Ian (KGV), Rose
Duckworth (Kellett). Unfortunately Zach (also Kellett), who
recently recovered from a fractured finger in his left hand
has gone and done it again in his right hand and therefore
had to sit this one out! Get well soon. It was a closely fought
quick-fire team competition held over two days in March.
Congratulations to Rose (Pico), Antonio and Emily (Fevas)
for their first place winner’s medals.
農曆新年假期過後，隊伍暫時比較平靜，尤其是教練Alfie亦放
了一個長假期，不過我們的隊員最近在香港島的深水灣參加了
一場校際比賽。
賽事的選手來自香港及澳門，而我們Dragons隊伍分別有隊員
參與Pico及Feva級別的小艇賽事。

Christie Chong and Zachary Blacker sailed on Laser 4.7s
in the Hong Kong Race Week where the weather was
predictabily unpredictable! Wind was blowing 25 knots on
the first day, very tough conditions for them, but a great
experience! Light wind conditions on the second, only one
race sailed—with the third day being shrouded in fog and
with no wind which meant a shore day for all—still they did
manage to get some decent sailing on the final day.

4.7作賽，但那幾天的天氣完全無法預測。首日的風節高達25，
這是非常困難的狀況，但同時也是很棒的經驗！第二天換成微
風，只進行了一場賽事。第三天卻大霧而又無風，意味著當天
只能待在岸邊，幸好他們在最後一天終於能夠出海了。
We are also happy to welcome Rose Duckworth to the laser
team; she started sailing with wet feet in 2008 and has
competed in the 2014 Macau Regatta coming 2nd with Zoe—
she is looking forward to racing the faster, bigger boats.
我們非常高興可以歡迎Rose Duckworth加入Laser隊。她於
2008年開始帆船運動，並與Zoe於2014年在澳門的錦標賽奪得
亞軍。她十分期待將來以更快更大的帆船來比賽。
A reminder to the lasers, the Dragons race training will be on
Fridays from 4 – 6 pm and Sundays 9 – 5 pm.
Lastly—Hannah, Emily and Ian recently completed their AI
course and qualified as Assistant Instructors—well done,
so if you see them around the Club, they are there to help
you—don’t be afraid to ask!

隊員一如既往地有出色的表現，包括
Timothee、Nathan、Zoe和她的妹妹(可能會是將來的
Dragons隊員？)、Joanna(法國國際學校)、Emily、
Hannah、Antonio、Ian(英皇佐治五世學校)及Rose
Duckworth(啟歷學校)。遺憾地Zach(也是啟歷學校)的左手
手指的骨折才剛痊癒，就輪到右手手指骨折，因此再次未能參
賽，希望你早日康復！三月這兩天的比賽實在是難分難解，不
過要恭喜Rose(Pico級別)、Antonio與Emily(Feva級別)奪得
冠軍！
提醒一下各位Laser隊員，Dragons的訓練時間是逢星期五4點
至6點及逢星期日9點至5點。

最後要說的是，Hannah、Emily及Ian最近完成了助教課程，
正式合資格成為我們的助教，做得很好！如果你在遊艇會遇到
他們，不用害怕，有什麼問題可以即管發問吧！
