Thank a School Board Member
January is School Board Recognition Month and HEB ISD is joining other districts across the state to thank these
incredible community volunteers for their generous commitment and contributions to our schools. Our Superintendent
Steve Chapman took the opportunity to share his appreciation:
“I’ve been pondering what I want to say about our HEB ISD School Board to
celebrate and honor our folks during School Board Appreciation Month.
When I think about the seven individuals that help set direction and guide this school
district, I am reminded of words like visionary, forward thinking, committed, encourager,
personal accountability, consensus builder, difference maker, and humble servant.
I believe one of the unique groups that makes HEB ISD Different by Design is our
school board. These individuals have no personal agenda, but do have a united goal;
make a positive difference for kids; ensure ALL students have access to high quality
curriculum and instruction; serve as good stewards of the district’s resources, being
mindful of the taxpayer’s contribution; honor, celebrate, and encourage staff through
competitive compensation and personal recognition; and finally, conduct themselves
with integrity and serve as positive role models.
This, my friends, is your HEB ISD Board of Trustees! It is an honor and a privilege
to serve with these seven outstanding individuals.”
