Veteran’s Day Observances
Several HEB ISD campuses planned special ceremonies and events to honor the men and women of our
armed forces. We selected two celebrations to highlight!
Lakewood Elementary hosted a Veteran’s day lunch for all of the
men and women who have served
our country and who also support our
students. The students wrote letters
to Veterans and gave them out at
the luncheon. The veterans enjoyed
eating lunch with their family members
and sharing their stories.
Spring Garden Elementary had a
campus-wide assembly featuring music
by the Harwood wind ensemble, the
Cougar Choir, and a keynote speech from Retired Marine Sergeant Chad King.
The flag ceremony and pledge were led by Cub Scout Pack #307 and Boy Scout
Troops 250 and 700.
