#HEBISD What’s happening around the district Harwood Junior High Pre-AP English I students in Ms. Clark’s classes recently posed for tableaus representing the families from Romeo and Juliet. Students were asked to arrange themselves so as to provide insight into the plot and characters of the play in a single frame. Five elementary Suzuki Strings campuses performed at the Hurst Senior Activity Center in February. Hurst Hills, Bellaire, Spring Garden, Shady Brook,and River Trails Elementary Suzuki Strings students presented a beautiful concert for supportive community members. Cornerback Anthony Brown visited Meadow Creek Elementary at the beginning of March! Brown talked with students about the importance of being active, eating healthy breakfast, and having fun. Then he led the cheers as teams of students raced in the “Breakfast Games”, a 3-part obstacle course challenge. Central Junior High hosted the annual World Languages Bazaar on the evening ofJanuary 11. The cold weather didn’t keep over 400 parents and students from attending the event. Visitors sampled cuisine from China, France, Mexico, Spain, India, Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, and Egypt. 26 Student-athletes from the L.D. Bell High School football and cheer programs volunteered at the Harrison Lane Elementary Fun Run. The student-athletes encouraged the Harrison Lane students to do their best, passed out water to the runners, and helped keep track of the amount of laps ran by the elementary students.
