MakerSpace Mania! HEB elementary school libraries hosted our first-annual #MakerMania Day on March 2! Students were given the opportunity to participate in STEM/STEAM challenges in the library and in their Fine Arts (Music, Art, PE) classes. From coding robots to play music, to binary bracelets, to homemade slime, it was “game-on” for a fun day of learning. Thanks to the HEB Education Foundation, every elementary school has a Makerspace in the library, where students can explore, tinker, create and build. Stonegate third graders show off their math skills by identifying and creating patterns using binary code! South Euless students transform computers with Makey-Makey kits! Viridian Makers Club showing their school spirit – making green slime! 14 Donna Park students love retelling their favorite stories in LEGO format! Stonegate second graders making beautiful music coding Dash to play his xylophone! Less than 4 minutes on the timer? No problem for these South Euless Rubik’s Cube rockstars! Wilshire kindergarteners aced the Craft Sticks Shape Challenge! Oakwood Terrace sixth graders study the Science of Sound with craft stick harmonicas!
