North Euless Elementary

Outdoor Learning Area ( NEOLA )
Science Goal Team members and Friends of NEOLA installed a solar-powered weather station in October with funds from an HEB ISD Education Foundation grant . The North Euless Outdoor Learning Area ’ s new weather station provides opportunities for students to collect , observe , and interpret data using mathematical principles and scientific methods . Science teacher Lisa Nelson has already used the technology during climate and weather lessons to check current conditions and make predictions . Students and the community can access the NEOLA weather station dashboard , available through Weather Underground , from devices with internet access .
The National Wildlife Federation honored NEOLA with a Schoolyard Habitat certification in February . The designation recognizes the collaborative work of providing a restored habitat for various plant and animal species , opportunities for observation
of natural phenomena , and the reinforcement of academic content through experiential learning . North Euless Elementary would like to express our appreciation to the HEB community for the continued support of our outdoor learning area .
