“ I ’ m so influenced and inspired by the everyday ” Ella confesses . The fact that London is constantly changing keeps her excited , “ I love its eclecticism , the constant vibrancy and energy and the slight sense of the unexpected ” she explains . This is particularly true of her beloved East London where she has had various studios since the early 90s and where there ’ s always something new popping up . This feeds into her work she admits , with a large portfolio of diverse projects and designs .

Her style and designs are a mix of the planned and the spontaneous . She admits “ as a designer I need spontaneity as an ingredient ”. She tries to carry her camera with her as much as possible so she can capture the moment there and then , “ I ’ m a textile designer by trade , my camera is my paintbrush ” she explains .
