How did you acquire the name Pre Dolla?

Well, when I first started rapping, i went by the name Pre$ice ( which I broke down, as Pre Dollar Sign Ice, before the money and ice ). But eventually found out it was a few artists with the rap name Precise already, and since some of my people was already calling me Pre Dolla for short, I decided to just stick with that. So now its Pre Dolla, as in, Im first to the money.

Who are some of the people that influence your music and why?

I listen to a lot of Chicago Artists, whether I feel they are good or bad, just to check out my competition. My Competition always influences me, no matter what level they are on. But mainly artists that can switch up their flows, rhyme patterns and who has that word play to keep the listeners attention. Lately Ive been listening to a lot of CyHi The Prynce, YP, T.I., Shawn Jay (Field Mob), Wale, Meek Mills, and a lot of Curren$y and the Jet Life.

What are some of the pros and cons of being an artist from Chicago?

With Chicago being such a big market, its PLENTY of room for everybody to have their own separate fan bases and make money together. But with that being said, its Plenty room for a lot of haters as well. Since its so big, people have the mentality that they don't want to support the next man, because they feel that that would ruin their chances of getting on.

Ive heard some artists say that they want to move to Chi to restart their music career, is this something you would agree with?

Lol, I mean personally I wouldn't suggest that, especially since we dont have any HUGE record labels based out of Chicago, to my knowledge. And most Chicagoans are very hesitant to show you "love" if you're not from where they're from. And I travel a lot, and its easy to notice how much Support they show Artists in different states. you would never know until you actually Leave Chicago and explore other markets. However, Chicago would make you a much more humble and hungry artist. I think it would build your drive, as well as give you more things to talk about in your music. So yea, you can REstart it here, as long as you plan on taking it somewhere else once you feel its time to take it to the next level.
