Sleep Tight: Getting a good night’s
sleep can help us function better on
many levels. For starters, refrain from
watching the news right before bedtime (it isn’t exactly uplifting) and
stay away from electronic gadgets. It’s
also a good idea to keep your room
cool and make sure your bed is comfortable. Exercise (but not too late at
night) and think happy thoughts as
you drift off into a blissful sleep.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that
can result from a multitude of traumatic experiences ranging from serving in the military and witnessing terrorist attacks to enduring physical or
emotional abuse in childhood. PTSD
often requires professional help and
many people have had success using
methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement
desensitization and reprocessing
(EMDR), support groups, medication and psychotherapy.
Although recovery takes time and
patience, there are steps you can take
on your own to complement any professional help you require. Here are
