Course Overview:
This course will enable you to gain the additional knowledge required to carry out Authorised Person duties,
and responsibilities to achieve compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. It also covers the
specific requirements of Health Technical Memorandum 06-03 Electrical Safety Guidance for High Voltage
Systems.
The course will provide an insight into High Voltage distribution systems and equipment, and the operation/
maintenance of standby power supplies. It will also cover the requirements for safe operation under HTM 06-
03, and the roles/duties of the Authorised Person.
It is designed for experienced engineering staff with responsibility for the control, operation or maintenance
of installed HV systems and who may be appointed as Authorised Person. It is recommended that delegates
have previously attended the HV Operation and Safety course or a recognised industry equivalent.
