Course Overview:
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa is an opportunistic bacteria best adapted to aquatic systems but capable of
surviving in a broad range of environments. It can cause severe infection and even death in susceptible
people. This course is aimed to give delegates an understanding of effective hygiene practices and water
management to control the risk from Pseudomonas Aeruginosa.
Within the course you will get an introduction to the bacterium Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, the infections it
causes and the environments it colonises. You will also be shown the methods whcih can be used to prevent
its transmission from water systems and human reservoirs.
This course is aimed at at facilities managers, infection prevention, control staff and all those involved in the
day to day running and management of healthcare premises.
