By all accounts, Duncan’s four weeks with the CADD program proved successful, and Vaz recalls him being in a really good place at discharge. The staff and his parents provided positive reinforcement when Duncan effectively used his newly-learned coping skills. Vaz says, “I think he left with high confidence in himself … knowing there were people wishing him well; he built strong relationships with peers and staff.” Along with Dr. Giulia Righi, a program psychologist, and Michael Trazi, an advance practice nurse and program attending, Vaz led Duncan’s CADD treatment team.
