experience in terms of exploring their rich and powerful world of metaphors and totally conceptual rich tapestry of imagination! How a child interpret a stick or pebble is always unique - that is where the power of using these imaginative metaphors for helping a child comes into play! It reminds me an interesting episode of a kid cartoon “Curious George” which is one of the favourite cartoon of my 6 year old son. In this episode George the intelligent monkey catches cold later he dreams of having shrunk and travelling inside his body and fighting all the bad germs within his body. Now do you see the parallel it has with the process of miniaturisation as we use in Hypnotherapy! For starter it may just sound like a kid story but you know what it actually works! And yes it works like wonder even as you tell as an interactive story to a child , you can heal and remove pain from situations like toothache or pain in the ear canal, which otherwise require immediate medical attention to remove pain! From my personal experience I can vouch for the effectiveness of these ‘Stories that Heal’ and can go a long way to heal and comfort a child, without any chemical or external intervention. Like wise these stories of fairies and Superheroes can be great tools to help empower and heal a child’s emotional and mental issues like fears of dark, Being alone, objects etc.., We can use these ‘Interactive Stories’ to help 3
