THE HEAD OF THE CHARLES ANNUAL REGATTA one of this Countrys most in
triguing sporting events has fast become prominent and permanent feature of the North American rowing scene Soaring to an entry list of well over 400 competitors
in 1967 the HeadoftheCharles last
held in the United States year was one of the largest open regattas ever
Loaked upon in college circles as an incentive far greater Summer conditioning and new goal far Fall training the HeadoftheCharles has received enthusiastic support from rowing coaches everywhere Scullers and Club Crews too have found that in addition to keeping them hard at it for eight mare weeks it has given them unique opportunity to match blades with their collegiate counterparts
Despite 1967 Ivy League ban against offseason competition ban since lifted thereby allowing Ivy League participation in this years Regatta last years Regatta
saw record 47 crews battle for honors while 68 scullers including 18 veterans
all over
40 pulled their

Patterned

HeadoftheRiver
races
in
England
the
Regatta
entails
the
timing
of each
shell
over
three
mile course
The
exact starting and
finishing times of each shell will be made matter of
photographic
verifyable
to
record
and will
be
1 / 100
of
second
Results
will
be relayed and
posted
at Regatta
Headquarters
as
quickly
as
possible
Entrants
in
each
Event
will
be
started
at 10
second
intervals
within
ten
minute
period
If there
are
mare than
30 Entrants in
one
Event
the time
may be
extended
one minute
far
each
additional
three
Entrants
Starting order in each Event will be determined by the order of finish in the 1967 Regatta
