Introduction
The first annual Head of the
Charles Regatta is patterned after similar races run in England for the past 40 years It makes use of narrow and tortuous
course at time of year when no other rowing competition is avail able The boats are started at
30 second intervals and their order of finishing is determined from the time elapsed over the mile course The actual compu tation of results is done by
