Thanks to Joe’s donation of a multitude of strips, some members made up to 40 blocks! At the time we showed several options for making a quilt, but none received a lot of votes. Time to rethink possibilities: What about a quilt that does not look like a traditional DP quilt? This is the block we think might work. What do you think? The star points would be one of several polka-dot fabrics and there would be a light background. Unlike the block shown, we would use 4 pairs of matching DP blocks in each of the blocks. There are enough strips left to make a piano key border. Keeping up with the Kids! In our effort to keep our members up-to-date with current vocabulary, we have written about different new terms in the past, like ‘blog’. Well, a new term for some of us is ‘meme’ meme - A meme is "an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture." A meme acts as a unit for carrying cultural ideas. A site for Internet memes is .knowyourmeme.com but you can find memes for everything in our culture, i.e.cooking So what kind of memes can you think of for our community of quilters? Page 3-Dec./13
