Good Evening Quilters;
Well, your president forgot all about this job for this month. Good job we
have Lauren. You can put my memory loss down to old age – not the hustle and bustle of the season. Our Christmas is going to be very low key this
year since it is the first year that our grandchildren won't be home. That's
what happens when they grow up and other families butt in. However, before you get feeling too sad for the Tallmans, we will be having everyone
show up at New Years so my preparations can be put off by a week.
I hope your seasonal preparations are going well. We hope to see some of
your Christmas gifts tonight at show and tell before they are passed along
to those loved ones. Don't forget to slow down enough to really enjoy the
magic and blessings of Christmas. If you have a houseful of little ones
[children or grands] that just about send you around the bend, take a deep
breath and remember time flies quickly and they will soon be grown and
gone.
I am looking forward to our dinner and evening tonight at the Missionary
Church Hall. The ladies and gentlemen always serve us a lovely meal and
do it with those little extra touches. Coupon Capers is also lots of fun. I
have won a few things over the years – not as lucky as some who have been
a multiple winner in one evening. We are all winners when we realize the
profits from this endeavour goes to help the less fortunate through the Food
Bank. We all know “it is more blessed to give than to receive”. Something
to remember when your name is not drawn [boo hoo].
If you missed our last meeting, you missed out on a fun activity led by our
vice-president Colleen. She had everyone up and dancing a quilting pantomime. Some sure had the moves. Everyone joined in for a fun time.

Our next meeting will be January 16, 2014. Lots to looks forward to in 2014.
In June, hopefully, some of you will make it to the CQA conference in St.
Catharines. We are also hoping to have a quilt show in September. Be sure
and tell Kathy Grant that you want to help her as she leads us in this endeavour. Our program committee has lots planned for our monthly meetings as well.
Let me close with a wish for your Christmas to be blessed and your 2014 one
of the best years ever.
Remember, your sewing machine and UFO will be waiting for you when
the celebrations are over.
