Denby
Decades of Denby
One of Britain’s oldest pottery
manufacturers, they’ve been making Denby
in the heart of Derbyshire since 1809 as this
image from the Denby Museum shows.
for which are a closely guarded
secret, giving Denby its unique
colour, texture and pattern. Each
piece of pottery still passes through
at least 20 pairs of hands before it
gets the Denby stamp of approval.
The brand has in recent years
recognised the need to talk to a
new audience – creating materials,
advertising, packaging and
product ranges which satisfy its
loyal customers who have been
collecting Denby over a number
of years as well as appealing to a
younger shopper, who are looking
for something to look great in their
homes but also for all the brand
reassurance which comes with
buying Denby.
The current portfolio has a mix
of classics which have stood the test
of time (Imperial Blue celebrates its
30th anniversary next year) along
with contemporary ranges such as
Natural Canvas and the soon to be
launched Studio Blue. Ranges such as
Halo create impact and have become
Denby’s most Instagrammed range –
perfect for a modern diner who likes
to post their food before they eat it!
From 19th century bottles for
preserves to 21st century noodle
bowls fit for Instagram, and
everything in between, it’s fair to say
that Denby’s versatile, beautiful and
durable tableware and cookware has
truly been styled by life.
