Support Services
Commander, and is directly comprised of
a Training Sergeant, one Personnel Offi cer, and two Training Offi cers.
Our offi cers work 3 different overlapping 10 hour shifts and provide cov-
erage around the clock for the City of Harlingen. Shift staffi ng consists
of patrol offi cers, fi eld supervisors and a watch commander. Augment-
ing the shifts are additional highly trained Highway Enforcement Offi cers.
Committed to the prevention of crime, Patrol Offi cers through their proactive
and constant movement in marked police units provide for the deterrence of
crime and the reduction of the opportunity for crime. Methods and techniques
include foot patrol, motorcycle patrol, and directed patrol.
