PURPOSE baby’s eyes. What tends to happen for most of us is that the higher spiritual awareness can kind of get shut down or closed off due to what’s going on in childhood. It’s a rare thing when people contin- ue to live with feet in both worlds – with one side knowing that you’re a mortal being, you will die, while on the other hand, having no fear whatsoev- er of death; you have this spiritual orientation that never goes away. The people in her book have an orientation of being able to dip back and forth between the human persona and what she calls, higher spiritual awareness. That higher spiritual awareness doesn’t mean you’re a better person, because like she said, babies are coming in with this awareness; instead, it means that accessing higher knowledge, higher truth, higher wisdom, is all part of our human possibility, our path. The other thing that is really important about the book is that it points out that most of the born- aware individuals have that connection to God at their very core, which means there’s no need for intermediaries between God and us. Also, there’s a lack of fear that I mentioned. Total fearlessness. A sense of trust and faith that all is well, regard- less of what it may seem. These are the kind of qualities a lot of people are seeking. Chapter 19 is my favorite because it’s all about grooming higher soul awareness. Her theory is that we all had this born-awareness and it kind of got blurred over. A lot of us just forget about it by being raised by parents who have also forgotten about it, and in a culture that has totally forgot- ten about it. This chapter gets into how to live in resonant harmony with spiritual awareness. It’s just basic things like meditating, looking into an animals’ eyes, encouraging us to recognize our spiritual core. Diane writes, “I wouldn’t be surprised if a large percentage of babies have this awareness at birth before amnesia erases any memory of it.” The born aware thing is not about children who remember previous lives. It is different than any- thing that’s ever been covered in metaphysical books per se. It’s not discounting past lives, it’s just covering a totally different angle. Diane is ba- sically showing a snapshot of what the spiritual, higher soul awareness is all about. 33 | HAPI Guide What tends to happen for most of us is that the higher spiritual awareness can kind of get shut down or closed off due to what’s going on in childhood. It’s a rare thing when people continue to live with feet in both worlds – with one side knowing that you’re a mortal being, you will die, while on the other hand, having no fear whatsoever of death; you have this spiritual orientation that never goes away. Each chapter covers a different persons’ story. Mine is called, “Whoops! Wrong Planet!” That’s how I felt and I often do still feel that way. It’s funny, but I just love all the stories. I love the way that some of the people talk about their synesthe- sia and I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn’t get into that, but here it is.” They talk about animals and nature, I’m, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” I don’t know of that’s true if the others who are in- cluded, that they just felt like, “Wow! If I had more time I would have covered all that,” but there’s just such an overlap. It really gives a complete picture of the whole journey. Again, I think it’s a show changer. This is a game changer. This book can change your world. Again, don’t worry if you don’t remember how to access early childhood memories and all that. It’s not too late for any- body. We can all access it anytime. That’s chapter 19, and I think by the time you get to that point in the book, you’re feeling it. You’re in that zone and I think that’s what this book does so well.  Reviewed by Cynthia Sue Larson
