Was it an overnight success? Well, not quite. Let me tell you a little more about how we got there and why we decided to explore the world of handmade wholesale.

I grew up working in the family bakery business back in England, so I had a pretty good idea of how much work and sacrifice is involved in running a business. My sister and I both developed a “nothing is too tough for me” attitude.

We learned about the retail side of the business, as well as wholesale, product development, transportation, and selling along with a lot of lessons in what not to do by listening to the occasional heated argument!

The statement that stuck in my mind was, "Wholesale makes a lot more money than retail, and this is due to overhead."

I know on the surface that might not make sense. After all, you’re selling your precious goodies for half price. But it’s not just about the final price because when you factor in utilities, shipping, booth, market fees, and your own time (yes you have to pay yourself), then wholesale starts to look a lot more realistic. It’s all about the bottom line, and your costs have to be accurate and up-to-date.
