Here are six suggestions on how to include your family and friends in your business, even if it is for a short time per day. This will increase your mental health and reduce stress and guilt for not being always being able to be everything to everyone.

1. Have little ones? Take advantage of bath time and turn it into music time. If you sew, crochet, or have something that you create that won’t be adversely affected by water, turn bath time into a family sing-a-long. Kids are playing and singing in the tub while you are trimming threads, working on our yarn project, or even making your “to do list” for tomorrow. You might not get things done quite as quickly as being alone in your workroom, but your kids will remember singing and playing with you. Memory made!

2. Have a daily “show and tell” with your kids or significant other. Show them what you got done for the day and listen to them when they talk about their day. This sharing time has a double purpose: You get to bond with your family and be a part of their daily adventures.Plus, you can see just how much you got done for the day. Go team!

3. Missing your best friend? Always too busy creating and no time for best friend bonding time? Try this: Invite your BFF over while you are working on putting orders together. If it’s something your BFF can’t directly help with, get her an adult coloring book, pencils and buy your favorite dessert to share while you hang out and laugh while getting things done.
