Handmade Seller Magazine Issue 9 | June 2016 | Page 58

I am a long term sufferer of a chronic illness, which halted my career in project management (and any other normal career). I wished to undertake in the future. Despite anxiety and depression issues resulting from this path of my life, I decided I wasn't going to give into the temptation of molding the bottom of a crevice into an armchair by claiming benefits and watching daytime TV. So I turned what I considered to be a hobby into a business venture by being artistic and creative!

After a lot of online training, research, and self-development, I am now a part-time freelance graphic designer, so I do all my own branding, logos, and promotional work. I plan to make all sorts of handmade gifts on a new Etsy store, which is coming soon. My current focus is on handmade beard grooming products, made with therapeutic grade essential oils. Not only do I create oils and balms to benefit beard growth and

maintenance, but I also try to

emphasize the benefits of their respective natural healing qualities. I attempt to help men take care of their inner wellbeing as well as their appearance. I am rather new on Etsy, but thanks to some amazing groups on social media and so many wonderful, helpful people, I am learning more and more each week. I

am very confident in my products and the benefits they offer, but I still have a lot to learn about marketing, SEO, and many other aspects of handmade selling in general. I love to share what I've learned with others; I believe in paying it forward, and I am determined to be a success. If I can share that success with others, we are all the better for it!
