Last month we asked you:

“Have you ever run an ad for your business? Tell us about it and whether or not it was successful!”

I have run Etsy ads on and off since January 2015. I always shut them down when I felt they aren’t really working for me. I saw an article about running ads somewhere around November when I was looking for information regarding falling sales. The author was talking about how advertising is a long term plan. There are going to be some up and downs, but you will see results down the road, just keep at it. I got serious about advertising in December 2015.

Pinterest ads were my most successful campaign! It flooded my Etsy with traffic, and I've been repinned thousands of times. My local ad was in a flyer (the map) of the wine festival, the problem with that is I can't tell what traffic is from the local ad! I was, however, contacted by a winery interested in picking up a small line, which is worth my weight in wine (lol). Social media ads are scary; you have to get he perfect target market and keywords, or you

I decided I would try it out for a full six months; then I would re-evaluate their worth. Since leaving them on, I have seen a tremendous return on investment. If my math is correct, this year I saw 1021% return on my investment for just a dollar a day. Properly placed ad revenue along with good SEO, tags, titles, and descriptions can really grow your business. Last month was a record breaker for me and this month looks to blow it out of the water already. Do I still have slow days? Yes, all the time. Am I on my way to a million dollars this year and make Etsy power seller? No, but I figure slow and steady wins the race with ads. Remember the turtle? That's me. - Becki Wagner, Happy Card Factory

aren't reaching people willing to buy! Millennial’s scroll the internet all day and I feel (for me) social media ads are a huge return when done correctly. I've had people find me locally through Instagram and Pinterest, who said they had no idea I existed. Long story short, ads are powerful, and I'm about to run another large campaign through Pinterest and Etsy at the same time to link my followers to the end prize, a sale! - Courtney Wandell, Salty N Southern
