Residency Curriculum Adult Medicine Training in adult medicine builds a strong foundation in history-taking, physical examination, differential diagnosis, the use and interpretation of diagnostic tests, and appropriate use of consultation and ancillary services. The medicine teams provide code coverage for all in-house cardiac arrests, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is provided. An additional rotation is provided in cardiology and many residents choose electives in medical sub-specialties. Women’s Health From contraceptive counseling to delivering a baby; from following a breast cancer survivor to assisting a victim of domestic violence, the family doctor confronts women’s health issues on a daily basis. The Women’s Health curriculum offers a wide array of clinical, didactic and procedural training in gynecology and family-centered perinatal care. Residents follow their own obstetrical patients in the Halifax Health - Center for Family and Sports Medicine throughout all three years.
