5 Don’t waste water by washing paintbrushes and rollers in between coats. Instead, wrap tightly in plastic cling film and they will stay moist – even overnight. 7 Use the blue painter’s tape instead of masking tape. Masking tape can leave behind a sticky residue that’s hard to clean off. Plus, paint can cause the tape to buckle or get wavy, which lets paint run underneath it. 6 Use baby oil to remove paint from your skin. 8 To avoid paint bleeding underneath the tape, do a thorough job of adhering the tape before then run a putty knife over the top to press down the tape for a good seal.
