And then front pickup is like a Gibson,
a PAF. It’s a Gibson pickup with an Ash
body, and it’s like totally killer.
It’s a ’51 yeah. It’s when Fender didn’t
have a name for what would then
become the Telecaster. The Broadcaster
had to be ceased and desisted because
the Gretsch company had a drum kit
named the Broadcaster. Gretsch and
Leo (Fender) had a friendly relationship
so they quit using Broadcaster. In
‘51 it’s called a Nocaster, which Leo
made the employees clip the word,
Broadcaster, off the Fender logo, and
they just stuck a Fender logo on there.
Then in Oct of ’51 is where you see
the first Telecasters, because of the
invention of television. The Broadcaster
became a Telecaster. That is a true
historical fact. ■
