COVER STORY
Joe Bonamassa’s
Great Moment in
the Studio with
the Nocaster
If you met me, and I didn’t know
who you were, and you wanted to
play one track off of this record to
say this is me, this is my voice --The one that sums me up the best is
“No Good Place for the Lonely”. I think
that playbook, British Blues rock, with
a guitar freak out at the end, I think
that’s intrinsically my stamp. For me,
mostly it’s the best really when you boil
it down. That’s my stamp.
What guitar did you use?
Joe Bonamassa by Christie Goodwin
Oddly enough, I used the Tweed Twin,
the Bassman, and a ‘51 Nocaster
that somebody conveniently, and
inconveniently, put a PAF in the front
position, which is killer. And it’s out
of phase in the middle, so its got that
quacky Peter Green thing, and then the
back pickup is a flat pole and it roars.
