factory so chances are you won ’ t ever need to tweak it . However , you do have the option of setting your own channel . There ’ s also Peak indicator , which lets you know if audio distortion is found in the output level . You can adjust your guitar ’ s Input Level . There ’ s a mini-screwdriver inside the battery hatch on the transmitter and a little Trim screw , should you ever feel compelled to tweak it . Again , it ’ s unlikely you ’ ll ever need this feature , but it ’ s handy to have the option .
Another key feature on the stompbox is that it has two Output jacks , which is crucial . Using the footswitch to choose between output A or B , the guitarist can send the signal to , say , two different amps , or one amp and a tuner – or even a dedicated chain of effects , as in setting Output A to a clean amp and B to the effects chain . Better yet , you can turn both on at once , all driven wirelessly and seamlessly from your guitar transmitter . This is impressive technology , folks .
Jargon aside , the System 10 works elegantly . We plugged the unit into a simple rig featuring an Epiphone SG Jr . and a Line 6 Spider IV amplifier . The Audio-Technica wireless unit powered up and connected immediately . The 2.4 GHz digital connection was full and rich . No tone was lost in translation . We even compared the rig plugged-in with a regular guitar cable , vs . this wireless unit . There was no audible difference that we could hear . Naturally , at a gig , you need to stay within a reasonable distance and in direct line-of-sight between the transmitter and receiver for best results . The further you get away , the more you ’ ll hear a little latency ( lag ) in the signal , but otherwise , it was rich and powerful . ■
