when you attach a guitar or mic cable, which
is convenient. If you’re using GarageBand,
open the app and create a new song. Then
pick the appropriate input, be it amp for a
guitar or Audio Recorder for a mic. Next,
turn on Monitoring and check your Input
level. If the input is too hot, the “halo” ring
around the One Pre’s large Gain dial will
blink red. Bring it down a hair until it turns
green—now you’re ready to record. After
that, you’ll lay down tracks as you normally
would and you can view the audio clips in
the Tracks window of GarageBand. Easy!
The iTrack One Pre works with almost all
iOS Devices: iPhone SE, 6s, 6s Plus, 6, 5s,
5c, 5, iPad Pro (12.9-inch), iPad Pro (9.7-
inch), Air 2, Air, mini 4, mini 3, mini 2,
mini, iPad (4th generation), iPod Touch (5th
and 6th generation). It is also compatible
for recording with the iPhone 7, however,
simultaneous recording and monitoring is
not possible because the 7 doesn’t have a
3.5mm headphone-output jack. ■
