Her producer and engineer also worked with another Warner act you may have heard of – Van Halen. In short order, Eddie Van Halen was brought in to drop a solo on Nicole’s tune, “Can’t Get Away from You.” Just past the 2:00 mark, Eddie swooped in with his patented wild bends, dives, and wicked crunch tone. He even sneaks in a classic EVH shred run at the song’s finale. 50 GUITAR TRICKS INSIDER DIGITAL EDITION This session found SRV guesting on a slick pop-rock number by actor Don Johnson (Miami Vice). The song itself was cheesy MTV fodder and, in retrospect, Johnson’s limited vocal range is almost laughable.
