SECRET SIDEMEN
8 Surprising Studio
Appearances by Pete Prown
When they’re not busy recording albums or touring, top
guitarists often turn up on other artists’ albums. Here are a
few of those deep cuts, some of which you may have never
heard before. We hope you dig these “secret sessions.”

Eire Apparent was an Irish band signed to
the same management as the Jimi Hendrix
Experience. Jimi also happened to produce
its one and only album. On its own merits,
“The Clown” is fairly generic psychedelic
rock, but the guitarist took a number of
fiery leads throughout – check out his wild,
backward-tracked runs and heavy fuzz tone.
In retrospect, it’s an epic acid meltdown
from rock’s preeminent guitar hero.
