Letter From The Mayor
Dear citizens,
It is an honor to greet you
again in this latest edition
of the Guide to Garner.
So much has happened
since the previous edition
was published in the fall of
2015. We’ve opened a new
police station and a new
Town Hall. We’ve created
a new strategic plan for
the Town government.
And we’ve surpassed the
30,000 population mark as
Mayor Ronnie Williams
we grow and evolve here in
one of the most vibrant and dynamic regions
of our nation.
Still, Garner remains a community with a strong
hometown feel. And your Town government
aims to continue to make Garner a great place
to be by offering timely and effi cient services,
overseeing orderly growth, enhancing our
already outstanding quality of life and doing all
of this while remaining fi scally responsible.
This guide offers an overview of how your
municipal government works for you—the
services, special events and amenities it
provides, its major initiatives and the plans that
create a roadmap for where Garner will go in
the future. This publication also directs you
to further informational resources and to
opportunities to become better engaged
and involved in your community.
This edition of the Guide to Garner is intended
to educate and to help you gain even greater
enjoyment out of being a Garner resident. But
what you’re holding in your hands is also, at
least implicitly, a call to action, a nudge to
use your knowledge about Garner and its
government to become a more engaged citizen.

you can do your part to make Garner an even
